The Czech Republic is no longer the infamous world leader in colorectal cancer occurrence and death rate, having sunk to the sixth and the eleventh positions in the two categories in recent years, Ladislav Dusek, from the Medical Faculty of Brno's Masaryk University, has told media. He ascribed the positive development to the preventive screening programme which is free of charge for the most endangered age groups.
