Czech swimmer Marketa Pechova, 40, crossed the English Channel between Britain and France in 12 hours and 31 minutes on Saturday as the first disabled woman to achieve this, the TJ Slavia Liberec swimming club's Facebook profile has said. When she was 12, Pechova lost her right leg to a thighbone tumour. Now she has become the 25th Czech swimmer to cross the English Channel.
