Czech president signs 2020 budget bill into law

December 13th, 2019

President Milos Zeman signed the Czech state budget bill for 2020 with a deficit of 40 billion crowns, the same as this year, into law on Friday, his spokesman Jiri Ovcacek told CTK. Zeman said during the first reading of the budget in the Chamber of Deputies in October that he would sign the bill if MPs passed it. However, he criticised the extent of support for renewable energy source and number of civil servants planned in the budget bill.
