Czech police uncovered 13 refugees, including three small children aged about four, packed behind a false partition in a van with a Lithuanian driver on the D1 motorway today, police spokesman Jozef Bocan said in a press release. He did not specify the refugees' nationality. The Mercedes van had a British number plate. The driver is suspected of people smuggling. The police stopped the van on D1's 162nd kilometre in southwest Moravia at 9:00 based on information they gained through international cooperation of security forces. They supposed that the van might be used to transfer people illegally.
