Czech PM praises work of his outgoing first minority government

June 26th, 2018

The ANO cabinet which will be replaced by a coalition government of ANO and the Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) on Wednesday has been active and well functioning, Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) who will keep his post said after the last meeting of the outgoing cabinet. Babis praised the fact that he headed a minority cabinet. "I need not emphasise the advantages of a minority rule. The main problem of Europe, not only our country, is the proportional representation. Unfortunately, we do not have a majority system which is in the United States or France. This has an impact on the functioning of the civil service and the state as such," he said.
