Czech parliament to ask police to bring in financier Bakala

August 14th, 2018

The Chamber of Deputies commission checking the privatisation of the Czech OKD coal-mining company will ask the police to summon financier Zdenek Bakala as he failed to come to its meeting, its chairman Lukas Cernohorsky (Pirates) told journalists on Tuesday. Bakala has refused to show up and provide his testimony before the commission. He was invited for today, but did not appear. Bakala lives in Switzerland. The request to the police is to be sent later today or on Wednesday at the latest, Cernohorsky said, adding that the commission had agreed on the decision unanimously.
