Czech doctors bring child of brain-dead woman into world

Doctors in Brno's Teaching Hospital brought the child of a woman in brain death into the world in mid-August, which is an unprecedented success, the hospital spokesman Pavel Zara said in a press release today. The doctors succeeded in maintaining the brain-dead woman's vital functions in operation for a record long time until her child could be taken out by a caesarean section, Zara said.
