Czech authorities may extradite Latvian tried over protests

The Czech regional court in Liberec expressed agreement with the extradition of Ansis Ataols Berzins to Latvia where he was convicted over participation in anti-government protests. The man, 42, is against the extradition, arguing that he was convicted for political reasons and illegally. A trained mathematician and programmer, Berzins took part in anti-government protests in Latvia in January 2009.
