Head of the Hungarian Football Association Sandor Csanyi was elected deputy chair of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) at a congress of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in Bratislava on Monday. Former deputy chairman Angel Maria Villar stepped down from the post last year after being arrested on charges of corruption. The 55 UEFA member states asked Csanyi, who also heads OTP, Hungary's largest domestic retail bank, to fill the post in an unanimous vote. Csanyi said he would make efforts to broaden opportunities for young footballers and strengthen women's football around the world.
