Crime numbers in Czech Republic slightly higher in 2019

December 27th, 2019

The Czech Republic most probably saw a slight increase in criminal activity during 2019, with the police reporting a total of 168,480 crimes between January and October, 4,517 more than for the same months of 2018. The police will publish the final data on crime in 2019 in January. It seems that the largest increase was reported in the number of murders and break-ins, with a slight decrease in the number of simple thefts. Overall criminal activity in the Czech Republic was on the decline for the past several years.
