The European Committee of the Regions (CoR), an assembly of local and regional representatives from European Union countries, on Thursday approved a resolution supporting the launch of the EU's disciplinary measures against Poland. In its resolution, the Committee of the Regions came out against plans to tie compliance with the rule of law to EU funds, and called on EU decision-making bodies not to suspend EU funds for Poland even if there is no agreement between the Polish government and EU institutions. There were 77 votes for the resolution, 39 against and 26 abstentions.
