China visited by former Czech PM Sobotka

Former Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka spoke with diplomatic and self-governing body representatives during his visit to China in August, news portal Neovlivni.cz said on Thursday. The trip may be connected with the activities of the Chinese company CEFC, which is close to President Milos Zeman and in which Sobotka's friend Radek Pokorny works, the portal said. "As a private person I was on a private visit to Beijing, but as a former prime minister I naturally consulted the Czech embassy on the trip and coordinated it with it. I also visited some Czech institutions," Sobotka said. Neovlivni.cz said Sobotka was received by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao.
