Chamber special session may debate compensation bill

January 26th, 2021

The opposition Civic Democrats (ODS), Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) and TOP 09 MPs want the lower house special session on Thursday to debate a compensation bill to give some certainty to businesspeople during the anti-epidemic lockdown measures, their leaders told reporters on Tuesday. TOP 09 leader Marketa Pekarova Adamova noted before the afternoon session of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Czech parliament, that her party had submitted the compensation bill as early as the end of last summer, but since then MPs for the ruling ANO and Social Democrats (CSSD) had refused to include it in the plenary session's agenda.
