Central bank reports profit of EUR 127.7 million for 2017

The Slovak central bank (NBS) earned a profit of 127.7 million euros in 2017 on costs totalling almost 421.1 million euros and revenues standing at 548.8 million euros, according to the report on last year's performance of the central bank presented in Parliament by NBS Governor Jozef Makuch on Tuesday. "The profit was chiefly influenced by revenues from financial operations amounting to 196.03 million euros," the NBS report shows. Net operating costs were 65.3 million euros and net costs of issue of banknotes, coins and collector coins were 2.98 million euros.
