Slovak President Zuzana Caputova at a summer camp for young ethnic Hungarians in Slavec (Kosice region) on Wednesday said that if parliament presented her with a law limiting the rights of minorities, she would veto it. She also addressed the question of a possible change in the preamble of the constitution, which starts with the words 'We, the Slovak nation...', in favour of a civic principle. "If the key law of the state is modified, then first of all it should be treated in a way that would prevent it from being modified so often. I find this to be the most important thing," she said. "At the same time I respect and acknowledge that the constitution should contain the civic principle in particular, but any change in it should be subjected primarily to an expert discussion, not a political one," the president added.
