Cabinet: New office aimed at boosting protection of whistleblowers

At its special away-from home session in Skalica (Trnava region) on Tuesday, the Cabinet passed an amendment to the law on the protection of whistleblowers, under which a special office - an independent state administration body with nationwide powers - should be founded with the aim of boosting the protection of whistleblowers. The office's role will be to provide protection to whistleblowers, monitor adherence to the draft law, provide professional stances and consulting concerning the application of the new law, educate the public in the field of protecting whistleblowers and provide remuneration to whistleblowers.
