Babis wants to present new cabinet set-up proposal by end of June

May 30th, 2018

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) wants to present the new cabinet line-up proposal to President Milos Zeman as soon as possible and he is to discuss the timelines regarding the new cabinet with him during their meeting in Lany on Thursday, he said today. "Of course, we will be discussing the situation regarding the cabinet, referendum and confidence [vote]," Babis said referring to his appointment as prime minister. "The president set a deadline for the end of June and I want to uphold it," he said. Zeman promised he would appoint Babis as prime minister for the second time yet before June 15, when the results of the planned intra-party referendum of Social Democrats (CSSD) on entering the cabinet with ANO will be released.
