Babis-Merkel talks also focus on conditions for commuters

It would not be good for cross-border commuters to close the Czech-German border, Czech PM Andrej Babis and German Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed in their phone talks on Tuesday, Babis said, adding that a solution may be to require two COVID tests a week, financed by Czechia and Germany, respectively. The Czech Foreign Ministry would welcome such a possibility, it told CTK later today, adding that it had promoted this alternative at the diplomatic talks with the German partners on Monday.
