Anti-defamation law needs interpretation to remove doubts - FM

February 19th, 2018

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said on Monday that "interpretation of the so-called anti-defamation law is necessary in order to remove doubts which have appeared." He added that Israel "wants to be ensured that no one will be persecuted for historical evidence until the Constitutional Tribunal has issued its verdict" regarding the law. At the beginning of February, Polish President Andrzej Duda signed into law a bill amending the law on the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) - The Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation, the so-called anti-defamation bill.
