Slovakia is currently better off in terms of food security than five years ago, but it's still behind the other Visegrad Four countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) in The Economist's 2017 Global Food Security Index, said Slovak Farming Cooperative (SFD) analyst Eva Sadovska on Monday. The average Slovak household spends around one-fifth of its overall monthly expenditures on necessary food, said Sadovska.
