Analysis: Slovakia 8th cheapest country in EU

Slovakia was the eighth cheapest country in the EU last year in terms of prices paid for consumer goods and services, Slovenska sporitelna bank stated on Friday in reference to data from Eurostat. In 2000, Slovakia would have been the third cheapest country in the EU after Bulgaria and Romania - albeit none of these countries was in the EU at the time. The most significant increase since 2003 in Slovakia has been seen with the prices of footwear and clothing.
