Had a general election taken place in April, it would have been won by the governing Smer-SD party on 20.7 percent of the votes, which is, however, 4 percent less compared to February, TASR learnt from AKO agency, which carried out the poll on a sample of 1,000 respondents on April 4-7. Next came Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) on 17.1 percent, which is an improvement of 0.9 percent compared to the previous poll. Eight parties would have made it to Parliament in April. The Slovak National Party (SNS) posted an increase of 0.8 percent from February, as it would have garnered 10.7 percent in April. The far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) also posted an improvement from February. It would have gained votes from 10 percent, which is an increase of 1.8 percent from the last poll.
