13th, 14th-month salaries to be paid on voluntary basis

September 29th, 2017

The 13th and 14th month salaries exempted from taxes and levies that the coalition Slovak National Party (SNS) implemented into a new social package will only be voluntary, saily Pravda said on Friday. Originally, SNS head Andrej Danko wanted the extra salaries to be mandatory, but following talks with Finance Minister Peter Kazimir (Smer-SD) he changed his requirement to voluntary. This measure will enter into force as early as in 2018, but the extra salaries will have been fully exempted from taxes and levies only by the end of 2019, the paper said.
