Zeman appeals to top court in eviction from Svatopluk estate

Czech President Milos Zeman on Friday turned to the constitutional court, seeking to overturn a ruling ordering the eviction of the inhabitants of the H-Systems housing complex. The builder of the estate went bankrupt in 1997. H-System owner Petr Smetka spent 12 years in prison. Many prospective owners finished their apartments themselves, without permission form the bankruptcy court. The firm's bankruptcy administrator now moved to evict them, saying it wants to sell the apartments and divide the proceeds among all cheated clients.
