Wife stabs husband in despair at Czech hockey team's defeat

The Czech hockey team's world championship failure last week brought a 38-year-old woman from Ostrava to a total despair that developed into a wild row between her and her husband, in which she stabbed him, police spokeswoman Gabriela Holcakova told CTK on Tuesday. While watching the May 16 quarterfinal match of the Czech Republic vs Switzerland, the couple were drinking alcohol. The Czech team lost 1-2 and was ousted from further games, a disappointment the woman failed to cope with.
