White house confirms Trump's visit to Poland

US President Donald Trump and Melania Trump will visit Poland and Denmark from August 31 to September 3, the White House said in a statement on Wednesday. The US first couple "will attend commemorative ceremonies and visit memorial sites in Warsaw on September 1, 2019, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II," according to the statement. It added that the visit "will highlight the historic ties" between the countries and the US willingness "to confront the region's many shared security challenges." Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday that he looked forward to the Polish visit. "I like the people," he said, adding that he had a great relationship with the country and had been invited to visit.
