US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher acknowledged the significance of Polish-US energy cooperation in a Monday tweet. "Energy cooperation between Poland and the USA is a pillar of our relations," she wrote, adding that Russian gas imports to Poland are reducing while the import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from other countries, including the USA, is growing. "Poland has signed contracts with American suppliers of LNG for several million tonnes a year," the tweet read. Polish President Andrzej Duda visited the United States on June 12-17, during which he conducted economic missions in Nevada, Texas and California. In Houston, Duda held talks with representatives of US energy companies, including those involved in the export of LNG. He also visited the Sabine Pass gas terminal in the Gulf of Mexico and met with Energy Secretary Rick Perry.
