UAE introduces temporary ban on Polish poultry over bird flu

The United Arab Emirates has introduced a temporary ban on the import of Polish poultry in connection with an outbreak of bird flu, Poland's General Veterinary Inspectorate (GIW) said on Monday. "On January 9, 2020, the European Commission informed GIW of the introduction by the veterinary services of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of a temporary ban on [Polish] exports in relation to the appearance in Poland of an outbreak of HPAI in poultry in the Lubelskie province on January 2, 2020," a GIW press release said.
