Twenty Vietnamese migrants caught trying to enter Poland illegally

August 10th, 2018

Polish customs and border guards in Budzisko (eastern Poland) have detained a group of 20 Vietnamese nationals caught trying to enter the country illegally. The migrants, who were hidden in a truck, will be readmitted to Lithuania. The migrants were being transported by a 51-year-old man with permanent residency in Estonia. He was held on charges of assisting and organising an illegal border crossing and faces up to eight years in prison, Major Katarzyna Zdanowicz, spokesperson for the Podlaskie Border Guard Regional Unit, said.
