A tomb of an unknown soldier should be created in the park by the Government Office in Bratislava's Old Town, as the Government on Wednesday approved a Defence Ministry proposal to create such a monument as a site where events will be commemorated. According to the ministry, the tomb should serve as a symbol of the patriotism and heroism of the Slovak public. The artistic features on the monument should also symbolise Slovak statehood with an emphasis on political and cultural heritage and centuries of experience from the struggle for national existence and statehood.
