The Czech Republic is trying to establish military contacts with Djibouti, a country with a number of world powers' bases whose strategic role has been rising, and which Czech Deputy Defence Minister Tomas Kopecny and armament firms' representatives visited last week. During the two-day trip, Kopecny met leaders of the Djiboutian military forces to offer them Czech help with training local soldiers and also Czech-made equipment such as radars and small firearms.
