Hungary was the first European Union member state to join the new International Religious Freedom Alliance launched by US President Donald Trump, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in Washington, DC, after attending the organisation's inaugural meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by US State Secretary Mike Pompeo and attended by representatives of the 26 countries that have joined the new alliance. Hungary does not accept international organisations "turning a blind eye" to the persecution of Christian communities around the world, Szijjarto told MTI.
