Survey: Slovaks don't borrow for vacations, save up their own money

June 13th, 2019

It takes several months or even a whole year for the majority of Slovaks (52 percent) to save up money for their yearly vacation, with only roughly one-fifth (17 percent) being able to finance their vacations alongside regular monthly expenditure, according to a survey conducted on behalf of a company called KRUK Ceska a Slovenska Republika. The survey also established that 28 percent of Slovaks don't go on any vacations - mostly pensioners and people with elementary education - and only a tiny group (3 percent) take loans for vacations.
