Stats Office: Employment in industry up 2.4 pc y-o-y in October

Employment rose year-on-year in most sectors in October, most rapidly in selected market services - by 6.9 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Annual increases were also recorded in the following sectors in October: in the sale and repair of motor vehicles - 5.7 percent; in information and communications activities - 5.4 percent; in transport and warehousing - 5.2 percent, in accommodation - 5 percent; in construction - 3.8 percent; in retail - 3 percent; in industry - 2.4 percent; in restaurants and pubs - 1.2 percent; and in wholesale - 0.1 percent.
