January 29th, 2020
Following a fall in December, the three-month moving average of the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) grew by 1.1 points month-on-month in January 2020 to 99.0 points, mainly due to an increase in confidence in industry and partly thanks to one in construction and trade, while drops were recorded in services and among consumers, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. The current ESI lags behind the long-term average by 4.3 points but rose by 1.6 points in year-on-year terms.
