Stats Office: Consumer prices up 2.9 pc y-o-y, 0.6 pc m-o-m in April

Consumer prices in Slovakia increased by 2.9 percent year-on-year in April 2018, the Slovak Statistics Office announced on Monday. Prices increased y-o-y in the following categories in April: in food and non-alcoholic beverages - 5.8 percent; in transport - 5.3 percent; in restaurants and hotels - 3.4 percent; in miscellaneous goods and services - 3 percent; in footwear and clothing - 2.7 percent; in healthcare - 2.1 percent; in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - 1.7 percent; in alcoholic beverages and tobacco - 1.6 percent; in recreation and culture - 1.4 percent; in education - 1 percent; and in furniture, housing accessories and maintenance - 0.4 percent.
