Stats Office: Average monthly salary up in most sectors in February

Employees in most sectors enjoyed salary hikes in February, with the highest annual rise being recorded in restaurants and pubs - by 9.3 percent to 458 euros, the Slovak Statistics Office announced on Thursday. Other average nominal monthly salary increases in February were: in accommodation - by 9 percent to 691 euros, in wholesale - 7.7 percent to 919 euros, in retail - 7.6 percent to 681 euros, in industry - 6.5 percent to 1,016 euros, in selected market services - 4.8 percent to 899 euros, in the construction sector - 4.3 percent to 632 euros, in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles - 4.3 percent to 944 euros, and in transport and warehousing - 2.3 percent to 863 euros.
