If the number of people infected with Covid-19 reaches a critical threshold, testing will no longer help and a lockdown will be the only recourse left, House Chair Boris Kollar told a press conference held on Wednesday. The state wants to prevent such a worst-case scenario with mass testing, although forcing people to take the tests is pointless, and Kollar said. "People are afraid. I'm afraid, too. It's a natural fear and concerns their loved ones, health and future, the state of the economy and whether [they'll] be fired or whether [their] factory will be shut down. All of these natural worries, and I understand them completely, translate into aggression and hatred," said Kollar. He added that the government might need to take the same steps as the Czech Republic and introduce stricter restrictions if the number of positive cases reaches the critical threshold.
