The car crash in which four people died in the Znojmo district in Southern Moravia on Monday has claimed its fifth victim after the seriously injured baby, a four-month-old boy, died on Wednesday evening in the Brno university hospital, its head Roman Kraus has told CTK. The car crash is the most tragic road accident to occur in the Czech Republic since September 2015 when six people died due to a truck and a van collision on the D1 motorway near Vyskov, Southern Moravia. Investigators have said the Monday crash was caused by the driver of an Audi car with an Austrian number plate who was overtaking a truck in a part of the road where overtaking is forbidden and collided head-on with a Volkswagen.
