Social-democrat Smer party got 44.41 percent of votes cast in Saturday's early elections in Slovakia and will take 83 seats in parliament, the Central Electoral Commission said on Sunday. Five other parties cleared the 5-percent threshold, the Christian Democrats (KDH) with 8.82 percent, the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OLaNO) with 8.55 percent, the ethnic-Hungarian Most-Hid party with 6.89 percent of the votes, the former ruling SDKU-DS party with 6.09 percent, slightly more than the liberal Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) with 5.88 percent.
