Slovakia posts foreign trade deficit of EUR 284.2m in Q1

Slovakia posted a foreign-trade deficit of 284.2 million euros in the first quarter of 2020, reported the Statistics Office on Tuesday. Slovakia exported goods worth more than 19 billion euros in 1Q20, down by 7.4 percent year-on-year. Slovakia imported goods for 19 billion euros, with the y-o-y fall being less pronounced here - 2.8 percent. The overall exports for March alone fell by 18.5 percent year-on-year to less than 6 billion euros, with the overall imports being down by 10.1 percent to 6.3 billion euros.
