According to a forecast by the Slovak labour ministry, Slovakia may need 514,000 new workers in the next five years. As many as 60 percent of them will replace those leaving for retirement. Job opportunities will chiefly be created in industry, trade, education, the health-care sector, transport and construction. Bratislava region will have the highest number of job opportunities with 90,000, followed by Nitra region with 70,000. The lowest number of jobs will be created in Banska Bystrica and Presov regions - between 50,000-55,000 in each.
