Slovakia govt approves changes to 13th pensions, upper monthly limit to be EUR 300

Slovakia's government on Wednesday approved changes to the 13th pension payment; it will now officially be a state social benefit and will not exceed 300 euros per month. Previously, retirees received a Christmas bonus at the end of each year, which was set to be replaced by a 13th pension payment approved by the previous government. The value of this 13th pension payment was supposed to be approximately equal to the value of a person's average monthly pension.
