Slovakia decorates Belgian general in UNTAES mission

Slovakia's military representative to NATO and the EU, Major General Ondrej Novosad, handed a medal of the Slovak defence minister to retired Belgian general William Hanset at the Slovak Representation to NATO in Brussels on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Slovak Armed Forces, TASR learnt on Thursday. General Hanset served in the 1990s as the commander of the UNTAES mission in eastern Slavonia (Croatia), where he also commanded a Slovak battalion of about 600 men.
