New Slovak President Zuzana Caputova is enjoying the biggest popularity out of foreign senior politicians, with the positive assessment by 71 percent of Czechs, according to a poll conducted by the STEM polling agency in June and released on Wednesday. Caputova is followed by Pope Francis with 63 percent of positive responses. By contrast, the least popular politicians were found to be Chinese President Xi Jinping and outgoing chairman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Donald Trump are also rather unpopular with Czechs. Czechs also often gave a positive assessment to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and former British Prime Minister Theresa May. Almost one-half of Czechs have a positive view of them.
