Slovak rail trade unions threaten strike

Trade unions at state-owned railway infrastructure operator ZSR launched a strike alert on Friday. The trade unions want to draw attention to the fact that "social peace is endangered" as the ZSR collective agreement for the years 2017-2018 was terminated on December 31 and that the director general issued a unilateral internal regulation. According to the trade union organisations, the director on his own decided by this regulation to guarantee the benefits he had selected without agreement with his partners.
