Slovakia's Tax Cobra discovered fraud totalling over 97 million euros in 2017, of which unpaid VAT stood at nearly 5.6 million euros, TASR learnt from Prosecutor-General's Office spokesperson Andrea Predajnova on Monday. "The results of the so-called Tax Cobra project demonstrate a high level of effectiveness and success in the given cases, where the effectiveness of tax checks reached up to 87.17 percent," Predajnova said. Predajnova pointed out that Tax Cobra is the outcome of cooperation between the Prosecutor-General's Office, police and Financial Administration (tax office).
