Slovak president signs road traffic amendment

Fines for using mobile phones when driving will double, according to an amendment to the law on road traffic signed by President Zuzana Caputova on Friday. According to the legislation, drivers will be allowed to make calls via hands-free devices, but non-hands-free phone calls within vehicles will be banned. The ban will also include other telecommunications, audiovisual and similar devices.
