June 19th, 2018
Parliament on Tuesday voted down Freedom and Solidarity's (SaS) proposal to designate October 28, the day on which the Czechoslovak Republic was founded in 1918, a public holiday, TASR learnt on the same day. In order to prevent an undue increase in the number of public holidays, SaS proposed 'downgrading' September 1, Constitution Day, by giving it the status of a commemoration day.
