March 26th, 2019
Parliament won't elect candidates for Constitutional Court judges earlier than was originally planned, as the plenum on Tuesday turned down Freedom and Solidarity MP Ondrej Dostal's proposal to move up the date of the election from April 3 to March 27. Dostal pointed to the fact that the Constitutional Court has been paralysed since February 16, when nine out of its 13 judges left. "Nothing prevents the issue from being discussed and the election from being held on that date [March 27]," he said, adding that the coalition's politicking should not be a hurdle to an earlier vote.
